Kristina Bangma – Owner and Founder
The Kits Energy Cycling club was founded in 2011. In 2010, after riding GranFondo Whistler, I realized that Vancouver had a real need for a club that could not only teach new riders how to cross the finish line but also the etiquette of cycling. I wanted to make it easy for any new rider to be able to enter the cycling scene and leave our club with the confidence and experience to ride in any large group no matter what their fitness level.
Over the past four years, the club has grown and I am excited to say that in our fifth year, we now have 5 coaches and a group for any level of rider. My mission is to keep the clinic groups small so that each person has one on one attention with their coach and does not get lost in the crowd.
As our club grows I can no longer be the coach for every group but as a member, you will still be in contact with me and receive a newsletter each week, containing tips and training advice. I also try to share my knowledge by writing for several different blogs and papers. You can find my work in the Vancouver Courier, Women in Cycling blog and on my own personal coaching blog.
