My husband, Duncan, and I have been training with Kristina for over 10 years and goodness knows where we’d be without her! Prior to the pandemic, we worked out in the gym in private sessions and in group classes. We have also participated in her cycling club. No matter what the format, I am consistently impressed at the many ways Kristina can disguise a squat! All kidding aside, the variety of activities, techniques and movements she brings forward and her overall coaching (programming how/when to train certain muscle groups, nutrition, breathing exercises, meditation, mobility, guidance on equipment and apparel, etc.), keep us healthy, engaged and motivated.
We decided to train with Kristina because of her extensive knowledge of the body, her focus on form and her adaptability around injuries. Duncan has a history of lower back issues and I struggle with carpal tunnel and occasional asthma. Because of these issues, we worried that we might do the wrong exercises or do them in a way that would exacerbate the problems. With Kristina leading the workouts, we know we’re in good hands. No matter what the movement, she’s always able to adapt to our present ability. To our delight, moving to an online format during the pandemic hasn’t affected her ability to correct our form or suggest adjustments.
We feel tremendously lucky to be working with Kristina. She is a wonderful coach, knowledgeable and always seeking to grow her knowledge base. Her style is supportive and encouraging, never bombastic or over the top. She gets to know you, what you are capable of in the moment, and what you can grow to achieve.
Zoom workouts with Kristina were a lifesaver when the pandemic started. I started Kristina’s classes via a close friend who had her as a personal trainer before moving away. The funny thing is that the pandemic makes those far away closer and those closer further away.
When we discovered that working out together remotely was a possibility, it was a no-brainer! Kristina’s classes are challenging when you feel up to it but she is also very cognizant of injuries that she always has alternative suggestions for. Her encouraging and motivating style makes you want to show up to every class. I like the group setting and feel that it holds me accountable!
Having said that, if something comes up and I need to miss a class, the classes are recorded! So it’s super convenient for me to do it the next day or later in the week.
Kristina is also very knowledgeable when it comes to physical training and muscle groups, focuses on form and always gives great advice. She’s approachable and always answers any questions I have in a timely manner. I honestly think it’s better than any workout class at the gym, and it saves me so much travel time!
Besides… that’s also the only way I get to see my buddy in NY!
I have been training with Kristina for almost 3 years now. We actually started in the gym, then COVID happened and it’s been virtual training to this day and it’s been amazing. Who would have thought virtual training can actually provide the same results/benefits – well almost the same as I don’t get to see Kristina in person, but the training is no less. Kristina works me hard and pushes me to a level I didn’t know I had. Her workout regimen is amazing and diverse. Thank you, Kristina for caring, for your encouragement and commitment towards my overall well being.
Kristina is one of those special trainers that you don’t come across very often. She is attentive, knowledgeable, dependable, caring and crazy fit herself. I have trained with her since the start of the pandemic (by video) and its been the best and consistent workouts for me these past 2.5 years. I have enjoyed them so much. Kristina keeps it interesting and challenging each session. She cares about how I am feeling overall, at the start of each session, and is excellent at gauging my energy level. She knows when to push harder or not push that day. She has given me so many positive tips on everything about health, fitness and nutrition. Kristina is an excellent trainer.
Kristina’s virtual group strength classes are upbeat, fun, and challenging. She provides exercise variations for whatever equipment the participants have: bands, weights, or every day items which make her classes accessible to almost everyone. Additionally, as the groups are small, she takes into consideration each participants’ current injuries and health limitations, offering alternative exercises when necessary. Kristina’s number one goal is to help her clients improve their overall health. She frequently reminds her participants of the correct way to breathe during exercise and finishes most mobility classes practicing breath work for focus and relaxation.
I first started working out with Kristina in 2009 when I was 53. I knew that if I wanted to remain physically active for the rest of my life and minimize injuries, I needed to develop better physical conditioning. Tennis was my main sport, a sport that is very hard on your joints.
I found Kristina to be a very knowledgeable and focused trainer. During her sessions with you, you can expect her to be 100% attentive to what you are doing and how you are doing it. She also listens very well and helps you overcome any issues you may have with any particular exercise. Her programs are tailor made for you and will develop as your skills and conditioning develops. And she is also great fun to work out with.
Sadly, my husband and I left Vancouver in 2015. We now live on the east coast. I was very sad not to have Kristina as my personal coach any longer. But earlier this year, with the Covid lockdown, I learnt that Kristina was going to start training on Zoom. I immediately signed up for a weekly group class and a weekly personal training session. Recently, I also signed up with her weekly half hour stretch and mobility class.
This could not have come at a better time. I had been having issues with my hips. I felt I had lost quite a bit of mobility and strength, most likely from primarily exercising on my stationary bike and not enough functional strength training. But now, most of my strength and mobility have come back, thanks to Kristina.
Once we had started our workout sessions, we both said: “Why had we not thought of this on-line training option before?” I love our Zoom sessions. I have some basic things – a mat, some bands, a handful of free weights, and, of course, my own body weight! Kristina is very creative in creating an effective workout session with what you have.
With zoom, I can work out with Kristina in the convenience of my own home. We were even able to continue our personal sessions when Kristina was traveling through BC! I also enjoy being part of the group class since you do feel and feed off the energy of the other participants.
I feel very lucky that I have Kristina back as my trainer. Once the Covid lock down is completely over and we can safely go to the gym again, I hope Kristina will maintain some time for zoom clients. I may be on the east coast, but my favourite trainer is on the west coast!
