TRIPLE CROWN FOR HEART RIDE
“challenge yourself” on july 15th 2023!
If you are looking for a local cycling goal, or challenge, this season, and would also like to make a difference in someone else’s life, look no further!
Triple Crown for Heart has raised funds totalling over $240,000 to support children with heart conditions undergoing medical treatment and cardiac surgeries. The funds raised are donated to two charities. The first is through donations to inpatient cardiac wards at BC Children’s Hospital (T6 at BC Children’s Hospital Cardiac inpatient and the Neuroscience/Surgery ward) through the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation which provides support for small attainable projects to improve the family’s experience while in hospital.
The second way Triple Crown provides support is through donations to the Children’s Heart Network (CHN), Camp Zajac. Camp Zajac is a fully inclusive annual summer camp accessible for children with medical conditions and disabilities. The funds raised through Triple Crown for Heart provides children and teens who have recovered from heart surgery and treatments the opportunity to experience social and outdoor recreational activities by attending summer camp in a safe environment.
JOIN COACH KRISTINA
Choose how many mountains you want to climb (1, 2, or all 3). Then choose the appropriate training program to reach your goal and start riding.
If this is your first time climbing any of the mountains, you may want to consider joining Kristina by climbing Cypress ONLY. We will meet at 11:00am at the base of Cypress (on the corner of Cypress Bowl Road and Cypress Bowl Lane). There will be a volunteer from the Triple Crown to check you in, but no other fanfare. If you choose to ride with Kristina you can expect to finish in time of 90 minutes (give or take), or you can choose to ride at your own pace. Please email Kristina to let her know that you will be joining her.

You don’t need to be a pro cyclist to ride this event.
“In 2016, when I was diagnosed with ARVC, I thought I would never ride up any mountain ever again. But thanks to research and amazing medical care, in 2019, I found my way back to the mountains. I have returned every year, to climb Cypress, and will continue to do so as long as my heart will let me. If I can ride up this mountain, so can you!”

Train to ride up Cypress mountain
This training program has been designed for those who are new to cycling, have taken some time off, or have never ridden up any of the North Shore mountains before.
Please note that the free coached workouts are for the Children’s Hospital staff, Doctors, and Nurses, to thank them for all the work they do.
Ride up all 3 MOUNTAINS, Seymour, Grouse, and Cypress, to complete the full event
This training program has been designed for those who already have a solid training base and have ridden at least one of the three mountains last year. If you are a new rider, you will need more than 3 months to prepare for an event of this distance.
